The Nissan GTR is a car which over the years, with each generation has frankly never missed a beat, so with the R35 being discontinued without any official announcement to be made from Nissan about a successor to it's legendary name the world is left with a big GTR sized gap. A gap in which Matt Clark, but who is Matt Clark? Well he is a designer working with Odachi designs and he has come up with a beautiful rendering of which we would like to see Nissan at least take a look at.

Taking inspiration from the previous generations of cars you can certainly see some recognisable features. Those classic circular rear lights a characteristic of GTRs past and present and the side profile of the car looking very familiar to the r34. The front headlights team up with a totally new grille although the headlights look like a hat tip to the r35. Clark says this vision can seed the thought of the GTR taking a jump straight into the pure supercar category leaving the classic 2+2 body style to focus on an even more sporty and aggressive aesthetic.

Oozing carbon fibre with a wide plant and stance this rendering is as if someone has already started modifying a car (very tastefully) without a car even being produced. The enormous spoiler vented bonnet and rear arches all look straight out of need for speed. The rims for me, may need some looking at but thats just poking small holes in a fantastic design.

Clarks vision even considered how the vehicle would be powered with a high powered ICE going to the rear wheels while electric motors could supply power to the front wheels. Yup Clarks big vision for the GTR is for it to be a hybrid, but so was the Mclaren P1 and I don't think anyone would say that was a problem the integration of performance and sustainable tech is always a positive!

As for the real car there is as of yet 0 news from Nissan themselves so unfortunately it is likely that these renderings will remain purely renderings, but it is nice to dream isn't it?
